daggers identity.

Idea and Logo concepts for Manchester based post punk/new wave band, Daggers. Wanted to play with type with in it's meaning. The two G letter forms worked out perfectly. I think. I also worked on a EP layout which I will post a alittle later on.

• These were the initial logo ideas







I decided that I really didn't like the pink or the cyan, it just was too bright. So I went back and thought what really could the daggers be all about. Then I figured it out, murder.

From there I wanted to tighten the kearning, so I came up with this solution.




The blood red worked well because it played on the darkness of the music, and the element of blood.


Then on to test pieces to implement the logo.
